Our campaign has collected petition signatures to force the council to call a referendum on whether to move to a mayoral system of leadership. Just collecting signatures didn’t cost much money. But now the Council has agreed to hold a referendum we need to think about getting our message out to every Croydon resident.

To print a leaflet for every house in the Borough costs several thousand pounds.

DEMOC Campaign Leaflet Schedule

On 9 July 2019, a public meeting was held in Christchurch, Purley to discuss whether there was sufficient interest in proceeding with a campaign for a democratically elected mayor of Croydon.
